We assist national security organizations with automated analytics tools that provide cost reduction while minimizing risk.
Gryphon provides our customers with expert, practical program support for acquisition of complex systems and platforms, with examples such as the Ford Class aircraft carrier, the FFG(X) small surface combatant, the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), and the Surface Navy Laser Weapons Program rapid acquisition.
Gryphon supported end-to-end acquisition, testing, and deployment activities for the CWMD On-Dock Rail Program which was awarded the DHS Level 3 Acquisition Program of the Year. The first-of-its-kind detection system is used to scan cargo moving from ship to rail via straddle carriers, enhancing national security and efficiency of seaport operations. Gryphon supported the first ever Straddle Carrier Portal deployment, declaration of Initial Operational Capability, and declaration of Final Operational Capability at the Port of New York/New Jersey Maher Terminal.
Additionally, we have supported the acquisition, delivery, and deployment of over 5000 Human Portable Tripwire (HPT) units to end-users at CBP, USCG, and TSA. When a critical operational need arose, we coordinated with CBP for expedited hand delivery of HPT units previously procured for CBP to ICE.

Mission Support
Gryphon provides operational support for a wide range of National Security missions. Whether it’s staffing the mission integration team aboard the Missile Defense Agency’s Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX) platform, operating clean rooms where we perform particle analysis for Lawrence Livermore National Lab, or augmenting the Commander Operational Test & Evaluation Force’s (COTF’s) staff with subject matter experts to test the Navy’s latest systems in evolving real-world scenarios, our customers turn to Gryphon to execute the most demanding missions.

Laboratory Services
Gryphon’s Livermore and Vallecitos (ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited) laboratories provide micron level precision machining and target fabrication services for Inertial Confinement Fusion experiments at laser facilities around the country. We also operate cleanrooms and a suite of analytical instruments performing material analysis for the Air Force and the International Atomic Energy Agency. This work has been ongoing for over 50 years, and generates data for some of their most critical mission areas.

BMDS Real-World Events: The Missile Defense Agency
Gryphon’s SBX MI Team has been supporting the MDA and onboard the platform in support of real-world events and Missile Defense testing since 2011 providing an advanced capability to the BMDS, increasing the MDA’s ability to conduct operational and realistic testing of the BMDS, while providing an operational capability to Combatant Commands.
Insight: For NAVSEA’s Director for Surface Ship Maintenance and Modernization, SEA 21, we led development of the Navy’s first-ever 30-year Maintenance and Modernization Plan, a companion to the 30-year Shipbuilding Plan for 2019. It details the maintenance, service life extensions and required resources necessary to sustain a 355-ship Navy.
Rapid Response: Also for SEA 21, we led response, recovery, and restoration of USS FITZGERALD following her collision at sea with M/V ACX CRYSTAL, coordinating shipchecks, damage assessments, heavy lift requirements, cost estimates, and acquisition strategy to make USS FITZGERALD operational within 6 months.

SHIPBUILDING COST REDUCTION: For SEA 05, our cost analysis of shipbuilder’s CVN 78 production data using JMP statistical analysis software was used in CVN 79 DD&C contract negotiations, contributing significantly to the negotiated 18% reduction in CVN 79 cost from the CVN 78 baseline.
